Langtang valley trekking is also called the valley of glaciers trek. Langtang is the closest place to get the massive snow-capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. This valley is located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu. The whole valley is dominated by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246 m/23766 ft)and offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy lawn and meadows.
Langtang valley trekking takes around 8 hours drive from Kathmandu. The starting point of trekking is Syabrubesi. From Syabrubesi you will follow the Langtang River to the east until you get to Kyangin Gompa (3,049/10000 ft) with the overnight stay at Lama Hotel, Langtang valley respectively. On the fourth day, you will arrive at Langtang valley. In this valley, besides natural wonders, you also visit a local Tibetan village and see their lifestyle. The last destination of this trekking is Kyanjin Gompa. Then you visit the ancient Buddhist monastery and glaciers in Langtang. Here you stay one more day on the next day you get an opportunity to ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m/14268 ft). From the top, you will get 360-degree mountain views of Langtang region.
Langtang valley trekking is more existing long day walk to Langshisha Kharka. From Kyanjing Gompa the trail heading east and the trail follows the valley past the turnoff to Tsergo Ri and past the airfield. It is long walking approximately 10 hours from Kyanjing Gompa. Our guide will carry some snacks and water. Also, we recommend bringing snacks and some water with you. Along the way, you get some great views of the nearby peaks including Dorje Lakpa, and eventually Shisha Pangma, the only 8,000-meter peak in Tibet. The trail accents few minutes after continuing through the moraines marked by a number of poles with prayer flags. After having a pack lunch return to the Kayanjing Gompa. The Langtang valley trekking is one of the enjoyable short trekking routes in Nepal. From Kyangjin, you retrace your route back down from valley to Syabrubesi and then drive back to Kathmandu.
